Jehovah GOD a failed GOD in many respects.
by smiddy3 inisn`t there enough evidence to acknowledge the god of the bible has been a failure ?according to wt / jw teachings ?.
a god that has supposed to have created the visible universe and everything in it ?.
some points where i would challenge that from an earthlings point of view using the bible if only in paraphrase.. doesn`t god create everything perfect ?

S3,
I only see three choices regarding sin and death:
1. God can enable it by forever letting it happen
2. God could make it impossible through instinctual programming and loss of free will
3. God can judge sin
Do you see ANY another possibility?

C T Russell's pyramid monument gets taken away by the WTS.
by Rafe injust recently the stone pyramid monument at c t russell's grave site was taken away by the wts.. six screens of the watchtower did a public discussion about the removal which may be still on that web site, that's where i heard about it.. it had been recently vandalized such the top head piece was removed and the carved christian cross on the monument was chiseled off.. since the wts owns that grave site, they have the right to do whatever they want to do with it.. my guess is that they will never put it back or redo the damage.. i think they will put it away in a obscure place and cover it, locked up somewhere.. the wts.
has never been proud or willingly open about that monument for obvious reasons such as being associated in false religion, which they claim they are not and they admonish other christian faiths are.. your thoughts ?

It's just so obvious that it was someone associated with the Jdubs that damaged it. Perhaps even the Org itself.
My thought exactly redvip2000.
Why chisel off the cross? Active dubs reject the cross.

Doesn`t God create everything Perfect ? Including the Angels ? and humans ? We know why humans fell short out of their perfection according to WT/ Bible ,ultimately because of deception by an Angel designated as Satan .
Isnt that a failure ?
My take: God is love. Love cannot be demanded. It must be given. That requires free-will. True free will requires the possibility of evil, rejection etc. Creating the conditions necessary for love is a good and perfect thing in the end, even if costly.

If God exists, what would be a good reason why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
by pistolpete inyou have probably heard all kinds of excuses why god doesn’t communicates with his creation or why he doesn’t intervene.. some examples.. no one can see god because he is a spirit.. but we can hear god---yet he chooses not to talk to humanity.. god only communicates with certain people.
moses, samuel, abraham, etc.
but there are many people today who also claim that god spoke to them yet we ignore them but believe god spoke to people who lived thousands of years ago and we can’t really verify if that was so.

why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
Didn't God intervene when he took the death penalty in place of others? Then, he walked out of a tomb to show that death was nothing to be feared.
Even if you don't believe the historical data regarding the Resurrection, surely you can agree that (if true) this would constitute the greatest intervention in human history, right?I personally can't think of a bigger intervention than the abolishment of death.
called us...not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, ... is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel - 2 Tim. 1

Resurrection after a death sentence in the OT?
by EdenOne ini have a question for those more versed in biblical history than i. .
knowing that a belief in a resurrection on messianic times was a later jewish belief ... but still ... did the ot jews believe that someone served a capital punishment / death sentence would be elegible for future resurrection?.
meaning: when coding the torah, did its writers intended that the capital punishment also be understood as an obliteration for all eternity?.

What about vs. 15 :
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Allegheny Pyramid Desecrated
by RolRod insometime within the last 2 weeks, someone took a sledgehammer to the pyramid monument in allegheny.
they stole the topstone, smashed the cross and crown emblem and removed the seal.. personally i'm surprised it lasted this long untouched.
although through the years russell's grave has been vandalized, it was always repaired by the bible students..

Now, how are supposed to know God's plan for us without a WT. pyramid? Where else could we go?

VanDH,
True, they only speak of the surety of judgement after death for everyone. Other scriptures speak of the eternal nature of the soul.

Is most of the promotion of creationism, not just that by the WT, charlatanism?
by Disillusioned JW inis most of the promotion of creationism, not just that by the wt, charlatanism?.
https://www.fullmoon.nu/sources.bak/chapter%2010/part%202/gish%20exposed.html [which has an article called "creationism: bad science or immoral pseudoscience?
- (an expose of creationist dr. duane gish)"] says the following.. 'a look at the "scientific" creationist movement and a close examination of the tactics of a well-known and influential creationist will reveal that the creation "science" movement gains much of its strength through the use of distortion and scientifically unethical tactics.. .... with the facts explained and the lawsuits won, scientists declared victory and returned to their labs and offices.

God speaking does not explain how God created. The obvious point is the Bible contains no science. There is no point in trying to make up some science in the Bible. It would also be one huge book or rather library if that was the case.
Well, I would partly agree that we certainly don't know a lot about the what the information was that was spoken. (That is changing however) But, the fact that scientists are beginning to view life processes (genome code) and now physical matter as information goes a long way in supporting the biblical contention that the information needed to form the universe was simply spoken into existence from the mind of God.
I'm just speaking my mind here.
